Linnea Loretta (Anderson) Hinrichs, 89, died Monday, March 2, at St. Brigid's at Hi - Park.She was born November 23, 1925, the daughter of Hjalmer and Edla (Sward) Anderson in Vasa, Minn. After graduating from Red Wing Central High School in 1944, she worked at Durkee Atwood. Linnea spent the majority of her life as a wife, mother and Bible teacher. She felt her calling was to be a missionary. God placed her at her own dining table in 1957 where she was instrumental in teaching and leading many women and men to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. She continued Bible studies in her home until the summer of 2014. Linnea was a prankster and loved April Fool's Day. She loved humor and would cut jokes out of the newspaper and assemble them in a book for her and Gordy to enjoy. Linnea loved her family. She prayed for each and every one of them each and every day.On September 6, 1947, Linnea married Gordon Hinrichs at Cross of Christ Church in Welch, Minn. Together, they had six children: David (Judy), Karen (Curt) Kline, Duane, Kathy Olson, Delano (Pam) and Deane (Tina).Linnea is survived by five children, 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.Linnea was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gordon, son Duane "Duke", sister Lorraine "Lolo", brothers Donald, Marlowe and Arlie, son-in-law Donald Olson, and great-grandson Logan Hinrichs.Linneas body has been donated to Mayo Clinic for research.A celebration of Linnea's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 9, at First Lutheran Church in Red Wing, Minn. with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.Obituary and photo from Red Wing Republican Eagle.
